NJ ASK: New Jersey Assessment of Skills and Knowledge
NJ ASK is a state assessment in grades 5 and 8 of student achievement in language arts, math, and science that was implemented to meet the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act. The Grade Eight Proficiency Assessment (GEPA) is designed to indicate the progress students are making in mastering the knowledge and skills specified in the Core Curriculum Content Standards and needed to pass the High School Proficiency Assessment (HSPA). The GEPA is a primary indicator for identifying eighth-grade students who may need instructional intervention in three content areas: language arts literacy, mathematics and science. This site provides summary test results, NCLB state reports, test specifications, sample tests, and additional information.
